====================
Long Road to Nowhere
====================
You think you think
You hate me, you hate you
And It would please me now, too
To hate you, hate you
Make it easy now to
Hate you, hate you
We've both trodded that road
The long road to nowhere
Cos it won't, it won't work
I saw it, I show it,
You know you wanna know it.
And here it is:
Your beautiful poetry,
It is nothing til you see,
The truth behind your lies.
And what a shoddy disguise,
The blood staining your eyes.
Your eyes
Your eyes
I can see you.
So is it true,
That you can't see me.
You can,
but do you? Understand?
When I say a man is a man.
And take my hand.
Can you hear me?
Do you hear me?
And a man is man.
No word or deed can,
Confuse what I understand,
Because I have a real plan.
Did you go anywhere,
Coz I'm still standing here.
Though we took great care,
Did we take the long road to nowhere
My Love
=======
A friend you'll always have
A friend always in me
When you're in good or bad weather, in need, or whenever
A friend indeed I will be
For my love is here for everyone
My friendship completely free
No contracts, gimmicks, or strings attached
Just an everlasting guarantee
And all that I show of all that I have
No skin can feel, no eye can see
For not touch nor taste, sight, scent, or sound
Can crack my love's solved mystery
Never and Always
================
I will always be right here with you
Through Never and Always
When you lose and when you win
Through the thick and through the thin
When in courage and in fear
With your smile and in your tear
Throughout both day and night
And in darkness and in light
Through Never and Always
Beyond the end of my days
Old Medley
==========
Beauty has been misplaced
It was never erased
It will be ever strong
Reunited face to face
Never too old to live
Never too young to die
When you gonna break on through
Stuck here however you try
Gotta get inside
Tear away the blinds
Wanna see the sun
Cos they sold it
You couldn't hold it
I'm just biding time
To bring together my rhyme
The Boy
=======
born and raised
never the same twice
this child tased
with rolls of loaded dice
a grown mind crazed
never naughty nor nice
his eyes glazed
with a layer of thin ice
Here's the boy
Told not to question
His mind to headway
Into a cliche
the sky it snowed
and from it came hail
til his eyes showed
nothing at all
Here's the boy
Beat into attention
His face wiped clean
Of childish gleam
a warm heart
But cold skin
save the lost boy
Before he breaks again
Here's the boy
Starved into dissolusion
And the thought
Of love not taught
Hold On (Take You For A Ride)
=============================
You're simply flowing
Ain't ever knowing
never stopping
always going
Your mind can't get a grip,
but you can't let go
DOn't wanna slip
But you wanna let it flow
You ain't got control,
coz it does you.
And when it breaks the limit,
take ya to the other side,
Ya better hold on,
Gonna take ya for a ride
Lonesome A Long Time
====================
Im slowing down to a crawl
Even though I wanna run
Want to run with you all
I'm back here feeling alone
I've been here a long time now
Waiting all day for tomorrow
Following a dream that waits for me
On a road that's always going
Felt lonesome a long time
And the remedy is at my fingertips
And it won't be the flirt that finds me
For I see none with my eyes
All of those and none of them
Are viewed with these eyes of mine
And knowing of me will never be ours
Until knowing knows itself
When these verse are of your voice
And of a choir are made these rhyme
I've been lonesome for as long as I know
A barren soul houses us all
Though the hue of my vision is distorted
I long for when I meet you outside
This shell can be travelled through
But be wary of what is your method
Gentleness will only do
What we want in the beginning and after
So lonesome for a long time no more
Fury
====
It's a fury so unkind
It burns the skin outside
It nearly blows my mind (alt.) It always blows my mind (alt.) I nearly lose my mind
And then we can't do this nor that
The whole thing's out of whack
So you just follow the pack
Wonder when it's gonna turn around
And bring the cycle down
Until you, too, breakdown
(alt.)
Wonder how many more of your breakdowns
Will bring the cycle down
How will it turn around
While you're eating with those you love at home
Put up dividing line to see in monochrome
Let all the nameless children go starving
While your problems we go fruitlessly solving
Why can't ya be left alone
To run to your safety zone
That I just couldn't condone
Cuz your world still ain't a happy home
You're not forced to live under a blinding veil
And closing your eyes makes you mind go stale
Open your eyes
Elders
======
Walk down the road
Or stay out of the way
It's the credo
Of many youth today
While the elders
Betroth you to fate
You fall closer
To marriage with hate
(alt.
If the elders
Marry you to fate
You fall closer
To betrothment with hate)
If you don't make them you equals
They will make you theirs
And the future will doubleback
Give you their destiny of tears
Verse Medley
============
I need you for that gentle heart
I have never touched a gentle soul
And I long for it, ever always
My path was mislead from the start
Anyone who writes to hide what he is writing is foolish.
Waiting for that something to return
It's a longing for which you always yearn
Carrying weight on your shoulder
While your vision is in smoulder
Where do you go, go from here
Don't love the place I am
Can't love the place I go
My heart beats high rpm
Revolution my soul must undergo
Have sins which i must acquit
I've got a gun, just haven't bought it
Can you shoot me now
I need to be alive
Posters are covering my walls
they don't keep company at all
Can you tell me how
And when you'll arrive
(alt.
But I can't allow
Allow you to arrive)
Lethargic in my room
Lay me down to sleep
Mummified and entombed
Give a god my soul to keep
Now from what I lost
None of you shall reap
When my body lies bandaged
I cannot make my music
None of it will flow
Out from my middle soul
A substitute I place for the skill
So my voice will never go flat
I wanna wipe out penury
Clean off the destitute
When i held her
I was scared to death
I, a frightened dancer
My mind had left
A light blue sheel, forms around me
Leaving me lonely on a Saturday night
You play the foolhardy at the jester's party
I'm suffocating, my jaw getting tight
And you like it
You think you like it
When will hope pass go again
It always seems to be going bankrupt
I'll still deposit my soul
For its life to be kept up
Look deep with your soul
Don't lose sight of the goal
Hold the road up to the sky
And you will learn to fly
Blown away by a worshipper
With a gun cocked and loaded
A bullet blesses by Him Self
And the blood of his Brother
I let the bitterness blow away
In the chilled wind where it belongs
Feed the child
Or he'll go blind
Brains go wild
With no hope to find
Lustful desire put a crimson veil over eyes
Heir to the passions of flesh
Wild thoughts fly to her breast
Of urgency of soul I must press
(alt.
Though desire of your soul I profess)
Yet to your flesh i stray no less
Another Time
============
I can't give you what I feel
I only hope you already see
If you don't fall in love with my rhyme
My vision is for it another time
Am I alone in mindless thought
Waiting for these glimpses that I've got
Of the things that make us sister - o say, brother!
When time be still and join together
What I hold within my heart
I hope of you it is a part
And if you don't see it in my rhyme...
Perhaps once again some other time
I'm dreaming always of new homes for us
tho'Been told not to care so much I know I must
don't ever want to feel comfortable
Just give myself everyhow so all be full
While my thoughts churn beneath this dome
I hope I'm not dreaming alone
And if we don't see behind our rhyme
I hope for it another time
I said this now but would I did not
Would I rot...
Waiting for these glimpses that I've got
Of the things that make us sister (and) - o say, brother!
When time be still, yea do ya say, o see, we join together
What I can't give of what I feel
I only hope you already see
And if you don't love my rhyme
My hope is for it another time
I am not mocking
m'only walking
If you don't walk this time last
I wait for you at the next pass
We are not mocking
We're only walking
If you don't walk with us
We'll wait for again our paths to cross
Little Girl
===========
If you look from whence it came
Everything makes sense again
Everywhere is truth, truth is all
Without faith you have no footfall
I look for the soul
Of your little girl heart
Put your chaos at ease
Remember you at the start
No matter your years
Always a little girl inside
You learned new fear
And became scared not to hide
When will you crack your shell
Be what you can't fight
I'm not the only one you can tell
You live down low but you dream in the sky
You've got the wings to carry you high
I hope to fly with you, someday to come
When O grow wings to, we'll all fly
I'll watch you everytime you're in flight
When I grow wings too, we'll set this earth right
The Enigmatic Me
================
Capture the flame
Dowse the rain
I am the wandering
Yet determined man
I see the water
Spill over your sides
I'm here to catch all
And bring it back again
Clearly ambiguous
My path always curves
It doesn't hinder me
Cos so does yours
Always on call
To unsolve any mystery
But I'm here to help all
The enigmatic me
Where I meet those who roam
I'm bound to stay awhile
How my wandering life goes
Wonder if I should wonder why
I am the bird of passage
I'm looking for a progression
In my form of expression
I can see my passion
I follow with aggression
Following the procession
Loving is my suppression
I don't rhyme with discretion
Wanna learn this a lesson
Til we can see the sun
Want the voyage to be won
Clearly ambiguous
My path always curves
It doesn't hinder me
Cos so does yours
Always on call
To unsolve any mystery
But I'm here to help all
The enigmatic me
They want a pacification
Of your participation
We bring em retaliation
But we ain't no sensations
Perfect Verse
=============
I perform for you
Hope you enjoy it
At home I am at night
If you I wasn't here for it
I'm looking for the perfect verse
But my tongue seems to be getting worse
Lyrics night and day
It's my work and my play
But I just can't seem to find the perfect verse
No matter what I make
There's always one more thing to say
Maybe a laugh you'll enjoy
What tone shall I employ
So I won't have any more things to say
Seems I will write no flawless rhyme
It can be ruined by myself anytime
The journey is destiny in itself
My incomplete rhymes collect dust on a shelf
And myself can ruin anytime
Charge of Quarters
==================
I am the charge of quarters
Making order while sons sleep
Ousting the old malicious warden
Who would not allow us to grow the tree
Gentleness will let it breathe
Pushing the head to ground will suffocate it
It must grow into its green
Else make its effort jaded
Idea
====
An ocean presented to my heart
On land my blood rushes very wishful
The breaking of wave starts out far
And my voice for that rupture remains wistful
You draw a line, next to mine
On the board of irrelevancy
And your word
I can find
To always be contradictory
Let's bring it together
We can always change its weather
I'm gonna drag it wherever
Huge idea's light as a feather
The Child
=========
I am a child
Until you snide
And push away instead
Make my jaw tight
To paint what you've read
I really tried
You stayed outside
Took now into kneeling
Make my hands hide
Those gentle feelings
(alt.
Now into kneeling
Given to concealin
I really tried
Make those gentle feelings
Outside I hide)
White Hope
==========
That girl is walking pretty
In the temple of my city
And I worship that famous grin
Wherewithal she will let us in
She is the last white hope
In this league of misanthrope
Coming of Age
=============
I stand before the hall of the sage
Waiting for this subtle coming of age
But I can't walk inside the door of this
For the passage spoken of does not exist
I run down the aisle with ivory column
They're stolen from you and I by that golem
We can't find him in the abyss
I ask from you to provide him liss
And your thievery is not a sin
We all must give our wages to win
I climb the stair in search of higher ground
But the plane I find is not much profound
While the grown ones cry and work and toil
I see none of us has grown at all
For all the coming of age we surely have missed
I can see clearly now it does not exist
... For the passage spoken of does not exist.
Need Another
============
My fury's faded
Won't be til it is aided
I need to be soothed
To be serenaded
Pay at the booth
So I can gain it
I go to reach out
For your you mind, mine is in a clout
What I don't get from myself
I get from you
But the things that you sell
They just won't do
Empty, so empty without another
Reachin in the pot seems such a bother
Need to work it it to mold the wonder
I NEED AN-OTHER
Red Tree
========
Live it all simple
Mind makes it large
And your workings will baffle
All without your charge
It was my obsession
Won't relearn its lesson
I wish I could stay
But it went away
Forward I still go
Laughing much so
Outside I am though
Try not to cry
I must go inside
Following the flow
Beauty's what I will show
This branch will grow
To where I won't know
It's maze I uproot
To share its fruit
Play with these toys
To strenghten the soil
And I vied
Move to the other side
The fence I won't hide
I tear down my pride
Game Feed
=========
My dad brought me to a game feed once
Where you can eat whatever meat you like
The tables filled with the variety of life
Where not a morsel was put to waste
He showed me many things
Never being too late
Pitching to the plate
On my own I try to sing
My music from him originates
Always tried to educate
My coming of age awaits
Still wait for my first date
In the Night
============
In the night
Friends drown away in the night
All good things have hidden from sight
I'm lonely til the sun brings me daylight
Chorus:
No friends in the night
Friends gone in the light
Like the last of twilight
Please, will you be alright
Show me the sun
I appreciate this sun
Some don't ever see the sun
We'll have to show them the sun
Chorus:
No friends in the night
Friends gone in the light
Like the last of twilight
Please, will you be alright
Moon in the night
Effervescent satellite
In company of starlight
Moon, moon shining bright
Its light protects at midnight
In company of starlight
Whets my appetite
Sun and I reunite
Chorus:
No friends in the night
Friends gone in the light
Like the last of twilight
Please, will you be alright
Marion's Scar
=============
Charlie walked up to Marion's door
With some flowers he bought many hours before
He rang the doorbell staring down at the floor
Really wanted to know Marion some more
They went to the show on what you'd call a date
Charlie didn't want to leave what happened to fate
He turned to Marion said 'Do we have to wait?'
Both got lonely pains we need to alleviate
During the show they made love in the car
Marion pulled away, couldn't take it that far
Their love broke like a string on a guitar
Charlie brought Marion home, left her with a scar
Chorus:
Charlie tells his friends 'Now, watch what you do,
'It'll stain your thoughts like barb-wire tattoo,
'And once her heart breaks then it'll be through,
If you were me then you'd know that it's true
Marion broke down in her room, guess they had went to fast
And Charlie wished he could go change the past
They both decided nothin between em could last
The bets had been placed, the die had been cast
Chorus:
Charlie tells his friends 'Now, watch what you do,
'It'll stain your thoughts like barb-wire tattoo,
'And once her heart breaks then it'll be through,
If you were me then you'd know that it's true
Ten years later Charlie remembers that day
The regret burns his mind, just won't go away
Every night before bed on the stars he prays
For if they ever remet that he'd know what to say
On a foggy afternoon he was returning to his den
Charlie bumped into the same Marion again
HIs mind raced, How could he make amends?
'Do we have to wait this time before we become friends'
Play With Me Games
==================
Please play with me a game
Where rules never stay the same
It's neither monopoly
Or silly parchese
I'm no good ith strategy
Trivial pursuit or jeopardy
Perhaps some wordplay with Taboo
Is that what you'd like to do?
No, you say. That's not the one
How about some Twenty-One
Please Play with me a game
Where rules never stay the same
Is D&D more your forte?
What games do you like to play?
Maybe a classic game of chess
I've got a friends who play the best
Is that a poker face you've got
At five card stud I've played a lot
My favorite of all time, is Life, I say
Coz rules don't matter once you learn how to play
Maybe that's the one we're looking for
One games not enough tho, let's play some more
For life's impossible with one set of rules
So let's use them not as walls but as tools
That Marley Spirit
==================
When industrial revolution
Is without a viable solution
When mass production
Is perverted into mass destruction
When food only feeds the wealthy
And the hungry never get healthy
And when the cure doesn't heal
To tyranny and terror the poor ones kneel
History always full of Jesus
Who of our sins they all relieved us
Where did they go to now
We killed them all but how
While you bicker where dividing lines go
Placing them all around to and fro
They don't ever help me know, though
Through them I will always go
I guarantee you'll still be bitchin
If you beat all the competition
With Rivalry your only mission
To Number Zero, your ambition
I know for truth that you be wishin
I'll try to find some if you want to listen
I wanna help us in our condition
Let's show each other some of what-your-missin
A noun too flawed to conceive
You know that you'll never retrieve
The thing that you call your vengeance
In only love I believe
And I truly deplore
Those sad ones who wouldn't die for
The love of their descendants
Don't succumb to their presence
In only love I believe
Impressions of political Nuisance
=================================
These are some impressions of politic nuisance
To raw for for mass production to put them to uses
But the Boss I follow with a confident smile
Sum good the only virtue on which I rely
I watched the television
Smart bombs of stupidity
Help children die with precision
Faces burned with lividity
Labrador
========
This fine Nation
Military misplacin
Where goin to war
For the violence whores
Through the education
We seek peace evermore
We won't stop our demonstrations
Til killin's last cessation
No room for argumentation
I'll be time's biographer
Twenty-first century troubadour
For harmony to bond us to the core
And please listen to my labrador
Ya gotta mix it up
To fix it up
Til Water in every cup
The fever will erupt
The Comfortable Zone
====================
At the comfortable zone where I am not not alone
I really do abhor
I neeed to go insane, I'd like to complain
Rationality is a bore
Martyrless Religion
====================
Rushin to a gap in the system
They exist everywhere, but you don't know why you missed them
The word I give only you hope can christen
As a prophecy in my martyrless religion
As I don't believe the existance of a system
In black and white this spark has its baptism
Our shared eyes experience our entwined vision
And all remnants of light will still bleed through the schism
As a prophecy in my martyrless religion
Memorial
========
All I see is little white names on a monstrous black background
Ominous memorials dominate our little lost town
Just another wall to help us drown more of our sorrows down
Still we never learn from these walls or our brothers in the ground
Our Mind
========
The writing flows to where I want it to be
Chopin in the background brings cinematic quality
But my words don't grow if you don't pass their test
My pen makes mind better, but you make it best
Won't be free till we aren't seen as others
Tear up all the walls, raze all the cover
Together, we gotta open up so nothing true can hide
We'll deconstruct all barriers and see into all other sides
Drugdealin'
===========
You listen
but you can't hear me
What your missin'
Is the reason
you fear me
I was only wishin'
The message was clear to see
But in a voiceless prison
I am here to be
Low ceiling
My shoulders healing
Won't be concealin'
The things we're feelin'
It's truth I'm drug dealin
Truth is the drug I'm dealin
What is my meanin
MY voice is obscenin'
Our wounds I'm cleanin
Hope is still gleamin'
Cuz it's truth I'm drugdealin'
And it's got an addictive feelin'
Too hot for a jacket
YOur skin, the heat will crack it
We're livin' in the losin bracket
If you're dealin truth, we'll back it
I provide the sound
You provide the feelin'
Tokin' all around
Cos it's truth I'm drugdealin'
Frontman
========
Don't replace me
Until you come and face me
You can't erase me
So where you gonna place me
You may distaste me
Wanna catch up, your gonna hafta chase me
Chorus:
I am the frontman
In a rockin' band
Don't ever get me banned
Gonna rock you to the end
The time is rip in bloom
Awakening so rude
Blesses with a perfected attitude
Gonna try to sing in tune
Hit you harder than a Japanese typhoon
I'm a badass rock N roll tycoon
Johnny's Walk
=============
When Johny's walkin home from workin
He got beat up, they broke his shoulder
Thrashed him, smashed him like a boulder
Johnny refused to let his heart grow colder
The words to his assailents as told, were:
"Why's lookin for trouble
Seem to be such a hot sell?
You know, we gotta find out
You can't just shut your mind out
'There is no wrong or right
For everything you fight
Blame ain't got no warrant
When you don't got nothing to want
'I truly understand
Why you give such use to your hands'
And in their hearts they felt
His words squeeze like a tight belt
'Whenever a fist from you is dealt
Only on you shall be the welt'
Kiss
====
When you gonna come down
Things are gonna turn around
Birds who fly, will never die
What's in the sky will come to ground
Chorus:
So many chances we have missed
In want of the everlasting kiss
But in friendly guise we follow Judas
And our proclaimed love becomes a death wish
I'm feeling lonely
I wanna turn the tide
With a whistle and a wink
You know I really tried
So have another drink
Cuz if you think, your mind will be defied
Chorus:
So many chances we have missed
In want of the everlasting kiss
But in friendly guise we follow Judas
And our proclaimed love becomes a death wish
Living and Dying, (Inside and Outside the Smoulder)
===================================================
Violence is the voice of a dead man
Fear of "early" death is what he can't stand
Proves his right with a terrified might
But the crimson smoke, it hinders his sight
Beyond the fog, dying behind the cloud
Lives the destitute child who cannot make sound
Being not able to prevent the attack
Learns to grow up by shooting death back
Chorus:
Children burn as bloody embers
Torn from all their family members
One more fire from their memoirs
In the burning sun of their December
But I stand here just a rock N roller
Living on the outside of the smoulder
Hear the woman scream at sugar-coated shrapnel
To send back their little lost boys killed so frail
Who play man-games with big arms and broad shoulders
And deaf ears and small eye slits to be blind to this smoulder
Bridge:
Those of us will always be a disgrace
Where revenge and apathy for it are commonplace
And with violent ways to love we efface
Unless a search for true solutions we embrace
We must retrace back to our birthplace
We all have the same face, we are of only one race
Chorus:
Children burn as bloody embers
Torn from all their family members
One more fire from their memoirs
In the burning sun of their December
But I stand here just a rock N roller
Living on the outside of the smoulder
Small Band
==========
Chorus:
Throughout history
See the one small band
With you-and-me-like man
Cleanse away penury
And truly change the land
To the small audience
I share my joke
Hoping from these fine folk
A laugh hardy and loud
And they rise above their silence
This small yet fine crowd
Chorus:
Throughout history
See the one small band
With you-and-me-like man
Cleanse away penury
And truly change the land
A small black race
Black and blue in the face
Rose up above the silence
Practising they preach through nonviolence
A small black race
Tryin to find their place
WIped clean their despondence
A brotherhood in emergence
Chorus:
Throughout history
See the one small band
With you-and-me-like man
Cleanse away penury
And truly change the land
The Beast
=========
Standin at the post office
Mailin letters to a priest
Of every man consists
In their soul a vicious beast
Its life always persists
Its existence never ceased
Man ordained by God
Is the thing I understand
His only true job's
To be an ordinary man
Preachin what he practise
To show to all the land
Of you I beseech
To be doin what you can
Dance and Sing
==============
I know you're missing
The sweet romance
But there are those
Without that chance
Until they get the chance
The chance like you to dance
I can't afford
To be caught in its trance
My throat is hoarse
But some people can't sing
And they've survived in places
You've never dreamed to have been
And to their children
They have no food to be feeding
I trust there is something
You'll can contribute to my meaning
Dying on the Floor
==================
My friendship
I gave it all
But no one took it
It lies
dying on the floor
Monologue Across the Room
=========================
We're sitting in the same room
Yet apart, we sit alone
Never listen to the same music
Say we come from different homes
And 'I'm sick of our distances'
I sigh with a pained groan
Chorus:
'Our eyes remain so tearful
And our hearts pump so fearful
So our lives remain so dull
And our minds always feeling less than whole
And feeling that we'll lose control
If we don't find the longing in our soul
'We put up fake walls
Only our eyes can see
And I can now see
Part of the blames goes on me
It's our own faults
We don't live in harmony
'I've just realized
That these walls aren't there
And I'll need your help
To really care
To prove these walls
Don't exist anywhere
Chorus:
'Our eyes remain so tearful
And our hearts pump so fearful
So our lives remain so dull
And our minds always feeling less than whole
And feeling that we'll lose control
If we don't find the longing in our soul
'I Don't wanna be alone
Don't wanna be alone anymore
On my radio
I hear these words
"I'll let you in my dream
If I can be in yours" '
My Prime
========
I wanna live up
Gotta lot to live up to
I'll Give up
Give it to you
World carry me on your ocean
Pray for me I can handle the motion
Spinning around in the infinite loop
Get lost in the passion, but stay with the group
I wanna live up (Got to find... my... my...)
Gotta lot to live up to (Want to find... my... my...)
I'll Give up (find... my time)
Give it to you (find... my time)
My time to hold on
Time to let go
Time to move on
Time, will it show?
The wheels on this bus go round & round
Run me over and pin me to the ground
Hit the brakes and turn the radio on
Keep the music down and pay attention to the song
I wanna live up (Got to find... my... my...)
Gotta lot to live up to (Want to find... my... my...)
I'll Give up (find... my time)
Give it to you (find... my time)
My time to hold on
Time to let go
Time to move on
Time, will it slow?
Graspin for mind
Reaching at air
Sweat pouring out
As I clutch my chair
I wanna live up
Lot to live up to
Give up
Give it to you...
...I'll give up
And give it to you
Lonesome A Long Time (pt. 2)
============================
So many times you've passed by
Not a one have I ever said hi
But I still love you so
Even though I don't know
My soul has been made debauched
For my thought is full of raunch
But I still love you so
Though to you I won't go
Very deep inside
The catacomes of my mind
I would be your ally
Though the feeling I hide
I want you to be mine
And I will be yours
And together, us will be all
So with the world we can triumph
I could drown your soul in spirit so deep
And it would glide through the depths
Al the treasure of this world it will reap
Same Game
=========
Your heads tucked down in shame
You're livin large and lame
When the game you play's the same
With just more money to your name
Head spinning round & round
Shrinkin back from every sound
Sinking deep into the ground
No wonder your train's headin outbound
Sound of Lost Year
==================
The sweetest sounds lay upon my ear
I bask in the memory that they bring
Immersed in a warm blanket of lost year
Music of friends, drenched in beautiful things
The View
========
I can't stay here, girl
I'm goin away
Places I've gotta go
Won't be back til a better day
I give my life to you
But I can't here
And I do enjoy the view
But I do not the fear
I don't wanna lose myself
Even though I lost my mind
So put my memory on the shelf
To dust off some other time
Beautiful Blue
==============
The tranquil ocean
In your eyes
Begins to rage
Yet Their gentle waves
That never die
Are beyond age
Beautiful blue
Show me hope
Beautiful blue
Show me a way
Beautiful blue
I see something true
In your
Beautiful blue
Shimmering crystal
Sees good fortune
In every palm
She makes the day
Makes the windy sky
Seem Calm
Beautiful blue
Shine out your light
Beautiful blue
Teach me some more
Beautiful blue
Help me be true
And never lose view
Of your
Beautiful Blue
"You have such beautiful eyes"
"Oh, they're just a shell distorting what's inside"
Normal Conversation
===================
You don't know what I'm saying
I don't either
Got lots of nothing to say
I think I need a breather
Yell, holler, whistle, whine
Scream and shout
Yea, that's the way I wrote the song
Doesn't mean I know what it's about
Maybe we'd get somewhere
If I just died
Sure feels like it's the only thing
I haven't tried
It's all part of another
Normal conversation
Free of worries, free of troubles,
Free of frustrations
Please listen to what I say
But don't take my word for it
Everything I've said and done
Just more meaningless shit
All my thoughts bubbling over
While I pout
Millions upon millions of ways in
Only one way out
I know we're both troubling
And I know you care
But we're both victimizing, criticizin
Everywhere
And it's all part of another
Normal conversation
Free of worries, free of troubles
Free of frustrations
I can hear every word I say
Comes out non sequiter
It must seem like no reason or rhyme, in my mind
But I'm getting better
Explosions bursting off our tongues
Extremely volatile
Judge, jury, executioner
For each other's trial
We Speak in riddles and tongue twisters
Hide everything we confide
The confusion rising
Up to its chaotic noontide
It's all just part of another
Normal conversation
Free of worries, free of troubles,
Free of frustrations
I'm very sorry I disturbed
Your peaceful serenity
All I can ask for
Is a bit of your merciful clemency
And it's all a part of another
Normal conversation
You can be a superstar
But you ain't no sensation
The Knack
=========
I read my book
It's not enough to keep me satisfied
While the page is black and white
My thoughts are tye-died
The words are leadin me on
But you know that I must read on
Like the girl you gotta spread your seed on
You ain't got nothin til you continue to breed on
The ink talks
But I don't believe it says any answers
Two stories are never enough
About the classicals and the romancers
And I'm looking for the stuff
I can't find the dance in the dancers
The sound's not in the radio antlers
No real talk found in the show banter
It hides like an unnoticed cancer
Killing me in proper/discreet manner
Don't believe what you say
Don't hear from my mouth
Don't you see the entranceway
Don't lead the way out
You don't got the knack
I don't got one either
I don't got a knack
For the things that I learned easy
Those simple explanations
Well, they simply just don't please me
And I try to show you
But you say no, too
Just like all the others do
But I'll keep showing, I'm never through
Wondering what you're all waiting for
I want more, We need more
But the roads don't junction
Wherever they actually function
And so I'm looking through a glass onion
And alone I can hear, you see
Everything to me is a euphony
While my mind cooks on overdone
I only know what I feel
Never known what you think
I gotta know what of you's real
Whether it's from the same cup we drink
Tell me do you really know exactly what you want?
Coz I really don't know what that means
And I'm sick of all this "I do" or "You don't"
Killing each other from opposite teams
Don't believe what you say
Don't hear from my mouth
Don't you see the entranceway
Don't lead the way out
And I try to show you
But you say no, too
Just like all the others do
But I'll keep showing, I'm never through
Wondering what you're all waiting for
I want more, We need more
I just don't got the knack
For the things that I learned easy
Those simple explanations
Well, they simply just don't please me
50th Mile
=========
I'll bet you never thought
That the kid walking the sidewalk
Was really running 'way from home
Never thought it, even if it were true
Bet you never thought
He wasn't taking a walk
Never thought he'd be you
Cold fingers can't write
Doesn't know if he's running towards
Or away from the night
Been in a directionless roam
Now, for a long while
Today he's on his 50th mile
Has to walk through dirt and puddles
Cos the sidewalk builders don't walk
As the radio show hosts don't talk
And in his speech he fumbles
Is there really nothing in the mumbles
Past the rage, the cursing and the grumbles
Born as the world twists and it tumbles
Doesn't know where he's goin
If each step is towards or away from home
Like a wolf to the moon he moans
Walking past the pizza parlor drones
Don't understand for they summarize
Instead of looking through his summer eyes
Approaching people with a plastic smile
Says goodbye to his 50th mile
Ransom's Random Ramblings
=========================
You needa read
For your mind to feed
Before it breeds
Spreadin its dead seed
And that's the creed
Ya better fuckin heed
Fuck your self-indulgence
Hail the emergence
It makes full sense
To revolutionize the insurgence
Don't need no certificate
Don't need no prize package
The things I really wanna get
I send ya in my message
Ambience
========
The sound pounds ambient
The roll I call incontinent
Body's burnin a heaven's send
The numbin sleep what you intend
While you toil to pay the rent
Fiery rhymes what I invent
Did Ya Have Fun At the Party?
=============================
Did ya have fun at the party?
Did ya really have the time of your life
Did ya meet a lot of friends, didya tell a lot of jokes
Did you propose to your future wife?
Oh yes sir
Oh yes madam
So happy
Oh, so fuckin happy I am
Drank lotsa nothin
Smoked second-hand cigarettes
Blown lotsa kisses
Toked all my assets
Pulled out my notebook
Did some heavy research
Here's the book I wrote, look!
Bio of the midnight lurch
Did ya have fun at the party?
Did ya really have the time of your life
Did ya meet a lot of friends, didya tell a lot of jokes
Did you propose to your future wife?
Oh yes sir
Oh yes madam
So happy
Oh, so fuckin happy I am
What I'm Missing
================
Do you know what I'm missing
Could you please tell me
So I can write a song about it
If I sang it would you listen
Would you listen to me
Even though I never knew it
Singin bout the things you have, I never known
Long as from my heart is flowin, I can keep the boat a-rowin
Through this vague life's blood I'll ride
Telling of what vague things I find
Drunk Bathroom
==============
Drunk people pissin
And drunk people missin
They all be missin the bowl
Is there a maid in the hall?
I tell ya!
Lisnin, laughin, lovin
Ev'ry word ya say
Talkin, tokin
These fuckers sure know how to play
But I'm alone in the bathroom wishin
That while they're in here they'd stop missin
And I ain't gonna stop bitchin
Til the maid gets on in from the hall
Taken
=====
It's another day, there's another girl
Same as I knew before
With a different face, a different smile,
It's a different girl
But the same to me for sure
Thorns of an encroaching intimate scratch my shins,
Massage her shoulders
Digging deep giving pleasured pain into her skin
Working to unfold her
There they go
They just locked arms
And now I know
Seduced by another's charm
It's an attraction I can't disarm
She's taken
We could've been together
She's taken
I could've gone to get her
She's taken
I could've found the love that
She's makin
Now she can see the apathy
I'm fakin
There she is again, there's another girl
Same as I knew before
With a different face, a different smile,
It's a different girl
But the same to me for sure [speed it up out of monotany, wanting to change the path] [this can't be a simple whine, it's more that you observe] [why do you feel you're viewed 'hitting on']
I'm wond'rin if she hears me scream
Her name while waiting without in my dreams
For her to come closer to me
Wond'rin if she hears how my heart beats
Breathing the shadow of a touch
I see her lovely, lovely so much
I visit my memory, view what's at stake and
an intruder pops my dream cloud, she's taken
We could've been together
She's taken
I could've gone to get her
She's taken
I could've found the love that
She's makin
Now she can see the apathy
I'm fakin
Done this too much for my heart
To be breakin
It's been crushed before, this but one more
Dead leaf crushed that I'm rakin
What am I sayin
I have forgotten what I am is sane
Philosophy (Part One)
====================
Listen to a philosophy
Completely free of dichotomy
What it doesn't find I hope you see
Though I told you
It does not belong to me
Wittling away at my rules of grammer
Taking with me an inadequate camera
And pointing and cutting with a precise laser
Pounding the remains to bits with a hammer
Smashing and mashing and carving and sculpting
And screwing and sawing and painting and bolting
A process unruly which I find revolting
Capturing volcano lava while molten
Listen to a philosophy
Completely free of hypocrisy
What it doesn't find I hope you see
Though I told you
It does not belong to me
Title and a Summary
===================
Music hits me when it goes beyond the title and a summary
It can't just bring one, but all of your memories
Voices
======
Voices on the radio
Special messages for me
Voices that make you crazy
If you believe that they're purple and hazy
But listen slowly and it is "nothing clear"
And many voices you will hear
But it's your own choice
If what you want to call it is a voice
Common Knowledge
================
(Don't ya know, boy) Ya need a lesson
(Don't ya know, boy) Ya need to be schooled
(Don't ya know, boy) What you think is nothing
(Cos ya know, boy) We already made rules
(Don't ya know, boy) Ya gotta read the papers
(Don't ya know, boy) If ya wanna learn the news
(Don't ya know, boy) Life is in the women
(Don't ya know, boy) It's in the smoke and in the booze
(Don't ya know, boy) Time is only now
(Don't ya know, boy) Life's too short to die
(Don't ya know, boy) We already know how
(Don't ya know, boy) Trying's too hard to try
(Don't ya know, boy) that's common knowledge

(Don't ya know, boy) It's the way we live
(Don't ya know, boy) It's how we pay the rent
(Don't ya know, boy) You better grow up
(Don't ya know, boy) We don't live in the sky
(Don't ya know, boy) Birds don't speak English
(Cos ya know, boy) Simply 'cause they don't try

(Don't ya know, boy) Work for wage or salary
(Don't ya know, boy) There's nothing else ya can make
(Coz ya know, boy) The rest is just charity
(Don't ya know, boy) Peace is too far away, boy
(Don't ya know, boy) For blind men to see
(Don't ya know, boy) When you grow old and wise up
(Don't ya know, boy) You'll learn to let it be
(Don't ya know, boy) that's common knowledge
(Don't ya know, boy) That's common sense
(Don't ya know, boy) It's the way we live
(Don't ya know, boy) It's how we pay the rent
Little Helper
=============
Think about this
Before you reject
My words can't defeat
Your rival intellect
I'm not spreading disease
It's antidote I inject
I'm here to donate
I'm not here to collect
I'm a little helper
And I'm not a yellow pill
I'll try to fill your mind
Hope I don't make ya ill
I'll give you all I got
With your permission, if you will
I'm on an endless mission
Don't worry, I'll pay the bill
Row the Boat Back
=================
You start to grow old
When play becomes a chore
And games are but heavy dreams
To carry on your shoulder
Row the boat back
To a younger time
And we'll row the boat back
To a younger mind
Is there anybody inside
This world I call the outside
Can't see through this blue shell
I think I need younger eyes
Row the boat back
It'll be a grand time
If we row the boat back
To a younger mind
Row the boat back
To the time of our lives
Let's row the boat back
To our younger minds
Stardom
=======
I'm gonna be star
Gonna get what I want
Don't you know
That's how it goes (You'll go far)
Sitting by the road
O that metal's so cold
Never gonna obey the sign
Cos you never know
Which way the boat rows
Might as well make the best of my time
(Might as well make it a grand ol' time)
Lisnin to Dylan
Gotta hardcore rhythm
But I can't fly a tune
Up next to the moon
Don't matter
As long as you digg'em
And as I turn to another page
I'll play the prophet, you play the sage
And just when ya start to find a focus for your rage
We'll paint a new color on the cage
Singing it
Bringin the rhythm
The notebooks overrun
WIll you love me
If you do
Will I be done
I'm pressin to CD
My melody
For cash
I'm digging
For buried treasure
And burying my trash
As thoughts begin to drain
Mind in a flurry of rhyming
There's a stutter in my brains
Puts a falter in my timing
Standing on the docks
On the harbor
Wanna dive in
Cold as a bitch inside
Never mind
Cos now I'm crying
Finger's are cold
And no one's gonna know
Write it down
Spend my money on the town
And my words are just crap
Gotta toilet bowl sound
So I'm gonna take'em back
I'm burning rock N roll down
I've read so much
FEel like I've learned so little
And I can't stand up
Against the ones whose thumbs twiddle
...But
I'm gonna be star
Gonna get what I want
Don't you know
That's how it goes (You'll go far)
[[[
Rhyming words don't come in pairs
Cos they muddle up your mind
Make connections that shouldn't be there
And cover paths that you might find
]]]
Underground Notebook
====================
Lisning to Stones
On my old-time radio
Seeking unknowns
Reading some Plato
Diggin for bones
With a steel-forged hoe
Trapped within moans
Where they go, I don't know
They can't tell you
Who's Better, What's Best
YOu're as good in your Underground Notebook
As them in their glossy plastic dress
There's too many people
For there to be a Number One
It's just a trapdoor to zero
When your usefulness is done
Just take in a mindfull
Keep staring at the sun
And you'll be somebody's hero
Don't forget to take what you've won
They can't tell you
Who's Better, What's Best
YOu're as good in your Underground Notebook
As them in their glossy plastic dress
Am I Free
=========
If dying is
The way you live
All's left that
I can do is give
Am I free
Ghosts haunt me
With your sins
Say 'Do what you want
Cos I can't win'
Am I free
I need you
To be my brother
Stop killing yourself
I have no other
Am I free
Tried to teach you
With a fist
But it didn't learn
The lessons you missed
Am I free
Looking for something
Meaningful
That isn't already
Dead and dull
Am I free
No one's listening
To this unheard music with me
Waiting on the park bench
How long all along it will be
Am I free
Putting on new
Guitar Strings
But in air is dead
The sound won't ring
Am I free
Our world has wrote
One Song of Hope
But we fell deep
Inside its moat
Muddy guitars
Won't play its notes
So with its dirt
We now elope
But are we free
And now we've learned
How to go far
Playing uncensored death
On burnt guitars
But - put simply
To your whole heart
...are we free
(The only things on sale
Rather looks cheap to me)
Praying through cash
With a card in a pocket
Slave to your servant
And the storehouse you stock it
Wealth ain't the blame
If love ain't after rents
Tell me, without making change
Do your dollars make sense
With you will I'll learn
To change the tide
And leave the old,
Dead World behind
And climb topside
Into some kingdom
It's open walls
Ringin of freedom
Then will we be free?
There will we find
Our lost friends
To live with
In some odd happy end
Is that free?
Even not stopping there
Should we go on
With peace and hope
Or whatever's forever strong
Then will we be free?
That's a tale
For another time
I'm looking, someway
Our world will rhyme
And we'll be free
Yes, that's a story
But it is for another day
But I hope one morning (Which morning?)
You can say
"I'm free"
I'm free
And say it with me
...Truthfully
Has Jesus wrote
One Song of Hope
And We fell deep
Inside its moat
That Muddy guitars
Won't play its notes
So with its dirt
We now elope
But are we free?
Grow Up
=======
There's marks on my arms
And there's phlegm down my throat
There's a ticking in my eye
That's just what God wrote
I see your face through the screen
These puckered lips, what do they mean
Wich I only knew the ones I met in books
Martin, Plato, Gandhi
I've given their pictures so many looks
I have with me so much love to show you
Well, here I am but where's it all gone to
I'll bring some boardgames and at halfway we'll play
My vision's turning blue
I'm wondering if you see the same way
I've gotta lot to grow up
My arms are beginning to atrophe
My guitar's lost a pickup
And I wanna move on my ability
I'm Lost
========
Don't love the place I am
Can't love the place I go
My heart beats high rpm
(In/Spin) Revolutions my soul must undergo
Have sins which i must acquit
I've got a gun, just haven't bought it
Can you shoot me now
I need to be alive
Can you tell me how
And when you will arrive
Posters are covering my walls
they don't keep company at all
Can ya help me find something
I'm lost
Can ya tell me where I am
Cos I'm lost
Can ya lead me to someone
Who can help me help myself
Don't matter what the cost
Because I'm lost
Lethargic in my room
Lay me down to sleep
Mummified and entombed
Give a god my soul to keep
Now from what I lost
None of you shall reap
Can ya paint me a new sign
I'm lost
Can ya help me feel the time
Cos I'm lost
Can ya direct me to to the next street
Can ya tell me where to cross
Can ya give me someone to meet
Please, I'm lost
PB and J (Peace, Bombs, and Justice)
====================================
From down here there's not
A clear view of the world
So I hafta give what I got
And then fly away like a bird
Here's a place where you can run in circles
Living out your dream
When it's too crowded for purple mountains
To be seen
Why don't I just calm down
Hear the cheering all around
Cos Peace is taking over the world
See the pole on top of the mound
A pride worth more than jewelled crowns
Go get your flag unfurled
Justice is something
We're always catching up to
It's not something
That simply comes to you
When we thought of our children
Something went horribly amiss
They're not products of what they're given
They're made up of what they (can) notice
They're made up of what they're given
If what they're given we don't notice
Why don't I just calm down
Hear the cheering all around
Cos Peace is taking over the world
See the pole on top of the mound
A pride worth more than jewelled crowns
Go get your flag unfurled
Cos Peace is taking over the world
Starting Line
=============
Every race begins with a starting line
It continues your race's last mile
I see you finish one more race, I see you smile
I'll see you again when I finish mine
Hear the whistle blow
You go
Hear the fire of a gun
You run
Who is there to race but yourself
No one else
Who is there to be true to
Who but you
I remember... Remember when you were so fair
We played... Dodging trains that weren't really there
Swinging... Higher-and-higher without a care
Now we're running from the sandbox
And running from an innocent touch
To something... Something you only get for so much
I've let go... I've let go... I've let go
What's it I'm hanging onto
I'm drowning in the water
But someone's dragged me... Dragged me out
Dragged me all the way out
Now I'm soaking the road
Leading myself down
My fiftieth mile
Leaving a trail of wet ground
Every race begins with a starting line
It continues your race's last mile
I see you finish one more race, I see you smile
I'll see you again when I finish mine
I've got my own race to run
You're invited to have some fun
Summer Swim
===========
I decided to go out for a summer swim
Dip my foot in first, see if it's safe to go in
Wading through sea, testing its waters
I'm a floating feather and nothing else matters
The brother sun warms my soul, gathers in beads
Submerge... look for life underneath
Reach my hand in, twirl it in some weeds
Tie up a bow, make myself a love wreath
Drifting aimless in a world of aquatic ambience
Dancing with the jumping lights in this deep blue
Going with the stream in a fluid trance
A plethora of life I see with this calm view
Youth
=====
Breathe Deep
Just for one last time
You can't keep
What you've got on your mind
Don't hold it
Don't hold so tight
Just mold it
Yea, til it's just right
(That's right)
Build that castle
You're a little child
Get the shovels and the pales
And play for a little while
It's not yours
No, it isn't yours to show
Just keep it a secret
Who is gonna know?
Grab a quiver
A quiver of arrows
Dance with a whisper
As life's blood flows
Dance the dance
And walk the walk
Go your own way
But don't forsake the flock
Looking for Some Water
======================
I went down to the store
Bought what I couldn't afford
And now I'm crawling, down and beat
Skin burning from the heat
Looking for some water
Looking for some water
Sorry to be be
Such a bother
But could you spare some water
For-a me
My friend, just went on a diet
I was heavy, so I figured I'd try it
Now I'm lean, as I'll ever be
But I'm thirsty as hell, Could ya cater to me
And now I'm
Looking for some water
Well, I'm
Looking for some water
Sorry to be
Such a bother
But could ya give some water
To-a me
Lost Loved One
==============
You are crying over your lost loved one
Trying to remember all that fun gone
Everyone loses the places they once played
Waiting for them to return at a later date
Warring Metaphors
=================
I don't have time
Nor the skill
To construct metaphors
Becuz my soul is blind
And my mind is at war
Art
===
It's been a long hard day
I've just got up from bed
And I wish I could be proud
Of yesterday and what I've said
After sorting through my things
And deciding which to do
I Measure myself on the wall
To see how much I grew
I take out a pen, some paper
And see what it writes
Maybe today I'll do some justice
To what is on my mind
With a white chalk I draw
On the great black board
But the dust that I sneeze upon,
Is what I'm aiming for
It floats from my sight
And far from where I stand
Perhaps it will live out its days
On another artist's hand
(With another secondhand)
(It floats from my sight
To be secondhand
Under the pen of another
Lonely artist's command)
Bright Eyed Girl
================
Bright eyed girl
Can I be your friend
That's all I want
Don't care about the latest trends
Not looking for the One
It's the lonliest number, I hear
Just looking for someone to help
To give a shoulder to catch the tears
(And One to see through mine)
I admire your bright eyes
The ones that could never tell me any lies
The ones that let me see deep inside
Oh, they're so beautiful it makes me cry
Smiles always begin
With the corner of the eyes
See the smile trickle down
That smile never lies
(Unless you're fooled by disguise)
Bright eyed girl
Can I be your friend
That's all I want
Don't care about the latest trends
Just wanna be your friend
I have a joke
That I want to say
So I can see a smile
Trickle down your face
Larger Than Life
================
Hey, hold your head up
Before you learn to live that way
You've fallen but you can get up
You've gotta look when the sun comes up
The light gleams through a crack in a hopeful ray
I know you're down now
Catching tears from a rain cloud
Keep your coat it's gonna turn around
And when your dry you'll be standing tall and proud
At the end of the day
You'll be feeling larger than life
Becuz you made it that way
Yea, yea, it's all right
No, don't deny to yourself
You'll only hurt
If you lie to yourself
Keep pushing and
You'll learn to rely on yourself
It's hard
But you can't lose
No, please
Oh, please don't fret
Be at ease
See how much better it gets
You've been down before
Once for every time you've been up
And you'll be down again after you're up once more
And then again you'll hafta get up
And you'll be larger than life
For everything you've tried
Yea, it'll be all right
Cos you waited for the turn of the tide
At the end of the day
You'll be feeling larger than life
Becuz you made it that way
You're gonna be larger than life
Now
===
Stop checking the hourglass
Dreading for deadlines to pass
They'll be gone
And you won't know where they went
Stop checking your wallet for cash
Worrying about getting the cheapest gas
It'll be gone
All the gold will be spent
And you won't
Won't know where it went
All that is today
Is all that is tomorrow
TIme is something you can't give
Can't take, Can't borrow
Stop staring at where you fell
Wondering who you should tell
It will pass
And all your sorrows will melt
Stop ringing the broken bell
Crying at the empty well
You'll move on
And won't remember how you felt
And all your sorrows will melt
The poems you exhale later
Won't be the ones you breathe now
Come and go like a vapor
Sorry, (I'd tell I know but) don't know how
Stop worrying bout the time
Start thinking bout you
There is nothing you can buy
That will always remain true
CuZ All that is today
Is all that is tomorrow
Time is something you can't give
Can't take, Can't borrow
Strength in Numbers
===================
We can't be wrong
Cos there's strength in numbers
There's an election coming up
And we can't all be runners
Magazine writers and journalists say
This is true, that is proven
The scientist, novelists, poets
Tell me what ideas are foreign
I don't like to argue
With my own common sense
It invites lurid thoughts
That rain down in torrents
This is the horoscope
For the the future and the past
Remember that history repeats itself
And you can't live up to the task
We can't be wrong
Cos there's strength in numbers
There's an election coming up
And we can't all be runners
The Master Plan
===============
Get them inferior people
Lock them away
They are brutal animals and
Shouldn't see the light of day
Don't let them multiply
We should cut off their genitals
So they can't copulate
Or have children at all
Chorus:
Yes, that's the solution
To all of our problems
Killing off those not like us
Is how we can solve them
We don't need those people there
Their skin is a bit off
Innocents are dispensible
Cos that's how I get off
We as individuals know
That they are all the same
Kill one, you've gotta kill them all
And in that there is no shame
Chorus:
Yes, that's the solution
To all of our problems
Killing off those not like us
Is how we can solve them
Bridge:
And I'll be doing what I can
To devise our master plan
To distinguish those of a different brand
For their kin are not of man
Campfire
========
Using the same rhymes over and over again
Building a camp fire as I pitch my tent
Gathering firewood, preparing for another cold night
Gasping for air, yawning, and taking another lonely sigh
The wood is wet, the fire won't start, I'm getting behind
Mud caked in my hair, scream, AAAAII'm losing my mind
Pushing away tomorow, coz I'm not even ready for today
I need a holiday, a castaway, what's the image I'm trying to portray
Practising hopeless makes you perfectly hopeless, better than all the rest
When you've got your craft just right, you're gonna ace that test
The task at hand, for you, man, is to think, HARD!!, find some structure
And put it on paper, with a pen that has just run out of ink
So dry off that wood, with the tail pipe shooting out car exhaust (Burn that moss)
Spin it around, turn it over, upside down, and cut it across
Light it up, burn some paper, get inspired, let your mind play
What you gotta say, hey, you gotta car, what are you doing here anyway?
Gladiators
==========
The cars are lined up in a parking lot
I look through them all, dream of which I want
Wishing I could be like someone I'm not
I can't afford the things my mind has bought
I'm never invited around to the same places
Cos no one will ever see others face to face
I'm running after in a heated car chase
When was this made such a chariot race
I'm riding on a chariot of fire
My skin burns, I must ride on, but I'm tired
The tension's mounting higher and higher
And I don't know to turn left or right
Can you give me the time, it's getting late
I'm getting too hungry to care for food on my plate
Not either sinner or saint, cos I ain't
And so here ends the song, I'll leave it to fate
Simple Kid
==========
Johnny has left his girl for the parties
Now he haunts her like a poltergeist
He now basks in sunshine in tranquility
And she had tears in her eyes
What can I do to change Johnny
And how can I cheer her up
I can't afford it with money
And try to put some in each cup
It's been a dirty breakup
And they don't wanna makeup
Playing games of the mind
No matter what I try
I'm just a simple kid
I'm just trying to be true
But there are times when I'm not sure
And I don't know what to do
Two of my friends are fighting
Run at each other's sighting
One's gone into hiding
The other's not even trying
Now I have to choose
But with each path I lose
What if one will refuse
Perhaps I'll set up a ruse
And won't tell them the good news
I'm just a simple kid
I'm just trying to be true
But there are times when I'm not sure
And I don't know what to do
I want the best for all my friends
I wanna be your friend too
I'll be here through all your troubles
I hope you'll be there through 'em too
Just want you to keep your head up
Until your troubles have passed
When you have fallen, you'll get up
Versus you, your troubles can't last
I'm just a simple kid
I'm just trying to be true
But there are times when I'm not sure
And I don't know what to do
Where This Road Goes
====================
My mood is showing
Cos there's a smile on my face
And all the bad times
Have gone without a trace
The sun is shining
Long time since I felt its heat
And I'm gonna find a hope
Walking down this endless street
And I know, where this road goes
And I know, where it leads
And I know, how to get there
And I know, it's you I want to see
The leaves are budding
On all the spring trees
I see the sprinters running
And I don't wanna leave
And I know, where this road goes
And I know, what I'm walking for
And I know, when this road ends
Then I'll know, I'll be at your door
Your face is blushing
And I know just why
You're so kind and loving
And I decided to stop by
And I know, which path to go by
And I know, which one to take
And I know, that when I see your face
That I'll know just what to say
I came by today
Cos there's something I want to do
I just stopped by to say
That I think I love you
I just stopped by to say
That I think I love you
And I know, where this road goes
And I know, where it leads
And I know, how to get there
And I know, it's you I want to see
Old Code
========
Turns on the radio
Learns what life is all about
Deciphers the old code
From the twisted web of wails and shouts
GO
==
I don't know what to tell you
I am me, and you are you
Looking for somewhere to place the blame
But it always goes back to the very same game
GO... Just GO
Fears and questions running through my head
Am I lazy, am I crazy, am I dead?
Everyone telling me the same thing
Sort through the rubbish, then I gotta sing
GO... Just GO
Dreams become heavy when duty calls on ya
Walls cave, responsibility falls on ya
Doin the best you can, but you got no plan
No one understands, only thing you say is:
"I gotta GO... I gotta GO"
Someone else's song, on some else's stereo
That'll never be me, I won't be that way, hear myself say
Things change, we've all seen it on replay
Insanity, morality, mass hysteria
Goodbye
=======
I've got some things to do now
Yea, and a lot of things to learn
And I pray that I am ready
When the page has to be turned
But if I say goodbye now
Please don't follow me away
Or trail behind me like a lost mutt
Waiting for someone to play
When all your wishes have been asked for
And all your dreams have been spoken
Will your prayers begin to answer
Or will your promises be broken
Tell me, if I said goodbye now
Would you plead for me to stay
And ask me to rethink til tomorrow
Though I say I must today
Remember when I told you stories
About how legends never die
And then I'd wonder why I'm still alive
Wonder if it would make you cry
And if I said goodbye now
I would whisper in your ear
So that no one around, but you
Would be close enough to hear
But perhaps when I arise next morn
My buried talents will awake
And then I will enter a contest
What can I lose with nothing at stake?
How Can I Help?
===============
Dragging along
Trying to write a new song
Do what you can along the way
What'd'ya say?
Feelin down?
How can I help?
Don't give me too much
I don't want to be a crutch
Can ya spare me a dollar
Says the man on the street
Can ya do me a chore
Says your family at home
Can ya help me out
Asks the new friend you meet
Can you donate
Asks the voice on the telephone
Feelin down, are ya?
How can I help?
I'm feelin pretty down too?
Couldn't ya tell?
The poorest man I ever seen
What good am I too him?
It's survival of the fittest out there
You either sink or swim
Some lose, some win (Is it truue what the fool say?)
People getting loud
It's an emotional crowd
How can I help?
Paying your dues
Obeying the rules
Really, Is that what enough to help?
Or asking
Don't want to work no more
Close my door
Can't I just sleep
Can't be though
Don't everyone know
How the saying goes
What you sow, you reap
Feelin down?
How can I help?
I don't know what I can do
I'm not so great myself
How bad does it hurt
Here, let me get my scale
Who's bad, who's worse
Now, take off your shirts
Quick, get in line!
Let me see, who's first?
I'm just dragging along
Trying to write a new song
Checking right from wrong
Do what you can along the way
What'd'ya say?
In Us We Trust
==============
How do you go
When you know
That a killer could take
Your last breath as his own
How do you live
Like all the rest
When your very next breath
Be your last before death
Live without care
So you better beware
All haters are involved
In a love affair
We can kill em off
We can be the boss
Don't let 'em tell you otherwise
In Us we trust
Life is just
Only as long as your enemy dies
They're wrong, you're right
That's why you fight
Someone's father isn't
Coming home tonight
Woah
There he goes
Here come another one
Watch him grow
That's why you must
Agree with us
We told you so
Blood is contagious
Watch it flow
Never let a soul know
Tell 'em what you wish
Just make Plan A go
We can kill em off
We can be the boss
Don't let 'em tell you otherwise
In Us we trust
Life is just
Only as long as your enemy dies
With You
========
Is there a word worth saying
Something I know worth showing
A [game/tune] I learned worth playing
A place there is worth going
With you
A pretty face
I don't want her to be mine
Prize race
Try to beat the best time
But I don't drive far
In the back of a car
With you
Miss you
Lord, I don't want to feel emotion
It's true
Lost all interest and devotion
Not a very smart fool
Afraid to go to school
With you
Out of tune
Tie myself to my bed
Be dead soon
Rid this music from my head
And it's getting very hard
To feel frets on my guitar
With you
Getting numb
House of pleasure, house of pain
And Dumb
Family blood is getting drained
Wondering what's gained
When I show up again
With you
Is there a word worth saying
Something I know worth showing
A [game/tune] I learned worth playing
A place there is worth going
With you
I'm Depressed
=============
I'm depressed
And it's gettin the best of me
Not getting any rest for me
It's testing me
Undressing me
Incessantly
Future, past, (and/but more) presently
Feel like dying
Too hard to feel like trying
Every moment feel like crying
All your hope I'm denying
The Storyteller
===============
He's running only on what he was fed as a kid
No faith, no kindness, no love to begin
There was a time in his life many years before
When he could weave stories untold of lands of lore
With glittered parchment and a pen of gold
Such wondrous epics for all to behold
Foreign
=======
What's that?
You don't know where to go
Here's something to sign, have my services
Your name goes right by the X
Please excuse the mess
Oh, and, how's the misses?
First time, on the line
You'll do fine, here's what you have to say
I before E, except when it's not you see
And you're on your way
That's it, there's no more
Let me show you to the door
Run along now
It's a big world out there
Just watch your step and take care
Ask Mr. x, he'll know how
Another one done, that was fun
But I've gotta run
No more time
The bell has rung, timecard's punched
The sung is song
So I guess it's goodbye
Hiccup
======
It appears that I'm about
To get back up
Oh, wait, I'm falling back down
Turns out it was just a hiccup
I live my life in an irregular pattern
In shorts bursts, my efforts scattered
I can't breathe, to a normal beat
Too jerky to be showcased in the marquee
For an instant, I see the blueprint,
Of reality, But then it drifts from me
For that moment, My mind is mine
I get high
But fear puts me back in line
The conclusion
Is disillusion
No faith or trust
It's just a parody
Of thinking clarity
The feeling's unjust
Coz when it appears that I'm about
To get back up
I fall back down
Was just a hiccup
And the feeling
Has got me reeling
I'm not healing
I need some healing
Air is drowning my throat
I'm Trying to keep my dreams afloat
But when the hiccup takes hold
It's just another thing to choke
Coz when I dream a song to sing out loud
The hiccup jumps and pulls it back down
When you're not onstage, you lose sight of the crowd
Who will help me now
Gotta move around, I can't sit still
The feelings lifting me up, I'm the king of the hill
Until...
Can't do it anymore
Hiccup just lurched me to the floor
Coz when it appears that I'm about
To get back up
I fall back down
Was just a hiccup
And the feeling
Has got me reeling
I'm not healing
I need some healing
Air is drowning my throat
I'm Trying to keep my dreams afloat
But when the hiccup takes hold
It's just another thing to choke
Coz when I dream a song to sing out loud
The hiccup jumps and pulls it back down
When you're not onstage, you lose sight of the crowd
All my ideals are drowned
Who will help me now
I try to talk
It won't come out
Don't know how to go about
I breathe in air
Its stale and dry
I'm way down low, a natural high
Johnny Mandolin
===============
Johnny is a growing man approaching his year 20
He's carries a jar with him where he keeps every extra penny
For he knows that others don't get much, while he gets plenty
He moves from place to place as his jobs don't stay the same
Had a roomate for a little, Albert Herman was his name
Keeps his living simple, doesn't bother him to keep things plain
He walks everywhere instead of taking the bus, gets there in hours flat
Saves the family back home money, and you know that that ain't bad
And the world seems less hectic, coz everything isn't flying by so fast
Madman Shunt
============
Yes, I think I've found the problem
Your son has no imagination
He had it sucked from his head when he was a little boy
With his cable television and his automatic toys
But the most suspect reason for this debilitating drain
Was found by a madman known as Shunt who leads research on the brain
Though his results based on circumstance and his theories get no respect
I will tell you his conclusions, what they were, in retrospect
He said the key to the mind is a channel through the soul
But where your son's should be there is a giant gaping hole
And my advise for you, dear, is that when you get back home
Simply slit both his wrists and then leave him alone
I've seen this before and there is no known cure
Get him off your mind and leave him behind
What your son has lost, he can never gain back
His mind once churned colors but now has gone black
From misuse and disuse it's become to late
His minds been stretched out from too much shit too dilate
With anything imaginative or artistic in fact
Things that are used even in science if I'm correct
Mission Statement (Doin' What I Can)
===================================
I've got Books on the wall
Gonna read them all
Gonna make me smart
And then turn it into art
I'm gonna: Go to school,
Learn the rules,
And then Break them all,
Gonna Watch them fall,
It's time to change the time
With what they left behind for me
A melting pot inside my brain
It's all rubbing against the grain
Gonna learn this guitar
Gonna play it hard
Gonna strike these strings
The screaming crowd gonna hear me sing
Gonna write my dreams
Sow 'em up at the seams
And show them to the world
No longer to be unheard
It's time to change the time
With what they left behind for me
Gonna (take it all/strike it rich) with the band
Just dealt me a winning hand
I've got a dollar in my pocket
Gotta song and some rhythm, gonna rock it
Gonna gather what I got at the concerts
Gotta bandage gonna heal where it hurts, ya
It's time to change the time
With what they left behind for you
World set in motion when time bagan
Faith and devotion, all be doin' what you can
Pop Thought
===========
Listen to the tick tock tick tock
Of the clock of your
I think it's reached it's tip top tip top
You love your musical radio
Absolutely absolutely though
What this is not
Is Pop thought
Coz Pop Tarts
Got no heart
Can't see the forest for the trees
Don't feel like knowing what that means
Lost my imagination in the war
No means for creation and what's more
I stole your artwork
It was lying there propped up against the wall
There were more paintings in your house
I wasn't very discriminate, I just took them all
I promise to give them back once I've
Torn them to shreds and copied them
Found a rosebush nearby on your beautifully landscaped lawn
Broke a flower off of its stem
I hope you don't mind
I saw the sign
It said stay off the grass
I walked right through though
Not to be unkind
Just didn't have the time
To walk in anything but a straight line
The End of History (Someone's Listening)
========================================
Verse:
------
Carving messages on the barks of the trees that the roots can't do without
Learning lessons the hard way, just say what you want you don't have to shout
Someone's Listening
Someone's Listening
Breaking through the bubble that's held everyone else back, for so long
Learning from our mistakes, practising what makes us not weak but strong
Someone's Listening
Someone's Listening
Chorus:
-------
All of knowledge
Meant for delving
Tip of the iceberg
And it's melting
I've written the end of history
And we're just beginning to write
Ours
Verse:
------
All in the grey, how much of the pallete. When, how do I become someone else?
Decisions and time, moving by, what should I do? Who am I?
Someone's Listening
Someone's Listening
Learn more only if I take another class? Life or paper, which test to pass?
Truth littering with a glancing phrase, undermining what we say
Someone's Listening
Someone's Listening
Chorus:
-------
All of knowledge
Meant for delving
Tip of the iceberg
And it's melting
I've written the end of history
And we're just beginning to write
Ours
Bridge:
-------
And someone's listening
Someone will always be listening
Spread that seed and I know
Someone will be there to watch it grow
It's the end of history
The beginning of ours
We're surrounded and I know
Someone's Listening
================
I don't know if I'll be alive or
Dead upon your timely arrival
Figured out life's not a game of survival
Just a question of whether you're gonna play
Deal Me In
==========
Everyone's doing all they can
No plan they know seems to be helpin'
No wonder everyone is resorting to blame
That it's a devil's card game we're dealt in
Too Much of A Good Thing
========================
I was a man never too inclined
To livin on the Edge
But I'm intendin to get loose
And that's my pledge
I've got these trinkets
That give me good feelings
Ones that I can't get
From real world real things
Yeah what's the point
of just a little ecstasy
when what I really want
is too much
of a good thing
Pop Tart
========
Listen to the tick tock tick tock
Of the clock of your mind
I think it's reached it's tip top tip top
You love your musical radio
Absolutely absolutely though
What this is not
Is Pop thought
Coz pop tarts
Got no heart
No certainty, of security
Are we really any safer than before?
I'm a pacifist, so why all the rage?
If you listen, I'll tell you more
Coz your new way
Is now your way
Gotta have it your way
Well, that's what they say
Love conquers all
Becuz they say it's true
So love your family, coz
No one loves your family
More than you
I'd like one of each please
As if there were any good ones
Now everybody's happy
Coz all I wanna do is have fun
Thieve's Market
===============
Chorus:
Rivalry
Don't let me
Be served on a platter
If you think it matters
I'm robbing
People's things
So everyone
Will be undone
Big brother teaching little brother to steal
Why bother getting a job that's real
Items don't need to be store bought
As long as you never do get caught
I'm learning how to steal what's yours and mine
More thieves being robbed all of the time
Chorus:
Rivalry
Don't let me
Be served on a platter
If you think it matters
I'm robbing
People's things
So everyone
Will be undone
Show Me (Or Is There Nothing To Show?)
======================================
You say what you say
What is more to do?
You can run triple plays
And retire the entire other crew
But you never knew
You were falling behind
You were always told
To run in a straight line
The diamonds shine pretty
But the beauty's deep inside
Yet you refused to crack it open
For fear of what you'd find
And though all the stores close at 10
Your heart still beats on beyond then
You bought what they sold
And did all you were told
You hardened the mold
Let it sit til it was cold
Made rules out of clay
And called your day play
Call yourself a rebel
Now you're going to hell
Am I going too fast
For your straight A's in class
Chorus:
-
What's that in your song?
Is it more than 5 minutes long?
Did you pour in air til it was full?
Show meeeeeee
Or is there nothing to show?
-
You've painted starry skies
To dazzle human eyes
And sell as merchandize
Pretty persuasive lies
You've written your book
Your whole life's how long it took
It doesn't show your age
Coz you penned it in your cage
While talking to the man who held the key
And convinced you inside was your home
Coz you always felt welcome
Because you were never alone
Never ran out of friends to love
Or enemies to hate
Which is which all depends on
What side you were on when one locked the gate
And you sing your song tonight
But I've heard it all before
And its possible when you sing it tomorrow
You'll show me nothing more
There's nothing I can show you
Until it springs to your realization
I can't and won't give you the key
It's all in my imagination
Call yourself a rebel
Now you're going to hell
Am I going to fast
For your straight A's in class
Chorus
I just don't have a song
To boost your state of mind
To do so before you're ready
Would be inexcusably unkind
Wonder why you look away from me
Coz you're really missing out
But I guess that true freedom is something
You'd be more comfortable without
I'll admit your song comes from the heart
And you inked it with a pen of gold
But I just don't give a shit
Gold's worthless to me
when your heart's the same old
Reign of God
============
I love you
We shall overcome
In the end
You shall overcome
As our friend
We as friends
The kingdom of God lives inside you
I won't let them tell me it's not true
All
===
Deathly Ill
I don't got a pill
That can cure your ill
All I can give is you
Just you
Kind words
Don't cure your hurts
But I don't have words
All I can give is you
All is you
And these damning night
Cast shadows on all the lights
People fall in clusters
I know there must be
Another way
Lies in disguise
Embed themselves in our eyes
Who can win
No matter who tries
Strong will
Gleams through the windowsill
Not until
It's creation
All I can and will
All I can give is you
The day breaks
But there is no light
In the sky
I wonder why
The morning dew makes
My heart ache
All I Have
==========
I know you're so unsettled to be
I know I have love to give away free
It's all I can do at all
It's all I have and I'm giving it away
This is all I have, but not all I have to say
My song doesn't show all it can
Under my feet, you can't see me take my stand
My place is here, right where I am
My place is true, I reach out my hand
I've got pictures in my mind
So beautiful, so very kind
I'm still dreaming visions for tomorrow
Til my hearts stop beating and is hollow
Painting pictures, of the world for you to see
I know I have love to give away free
It's all I can do at all
It's all I have, all I have at all
My teaching method is what I improve
Education is an ointment to soothe
Don't feel so down, you have influence
When your gut feeling and justice are in congruence
I read your letter, so pretty from your heart
It ain't all that great, but it's definitely a start
I see truth ingrained in the ink
You're mind is working, what do you think
Right now they don't listen, but I think they might
Cooperation makes everyone right
No use for bitterness and malice
Freedom and truth can house us all, it's a big enough palace
I know right know, we're taking the fall
I know our progress looks like its stalled
But we're all waking up a little more
If you're still asleep, you can't walk through the door
I know you're so happy to be
I know I have love to give away free
It's all I can do at all
It's all I have and I'm giving it away
This is all I have, but not all I have to say
Build a Gate
============
Feel the sun beat down
See the light rise up
Freeing all the sorrow
Hear the river run
Hear the mighty stream
Rushing towards a peaceful tomorrow
The world is heading
Towards a better day
The word is spreading
It's coming our way
Don't fall again
Don't lose hope
Faith is a balancing stick
On your tighrope
Oohh
Feel the sun beat down
See the light rise up
Illuminating a peaceful tomorrow
Ooh
Hear the river run
Hear the mighty stream
Wherever it flows, I will follow
Justice and right
Are charging to meet us
It's a hungry night
Truth will feed us
For now
Sit in the conservatory
Where light can flourish
Fact is found in fictional story
And God can answer a wish
Your wound must hurt now
I'll help make it better, ohh
The walls slowly being torn down
And love, we'll get her
Ohh
Build a gate
Build a gate
For the stream to flow through
It's not late
Not too late
It just takes so long to do
Won't you come out truth
I'm too attach to you to ignore
You're the only kite that flew
And the line can be made short
Come closer to me truth
Come closer to me love
We live far down here
Come down from high above
Hear the mighty stream
Hear the river run
See the light and
Feel the heat
Of the illuminate sun
Build a gate
Build a gate
For the stream to flow through
It's not late
Not too late
It just takes so long to do
Do ya Miss Me
=============
Do ya miss me?
For I think I've gone away
Did ya Listen to me
Or did ya dismiss the things I say
Well, now I'm gone
Now you'll hear no more
I'm long gone
Travelled to the higher floor
Maybe I'm selfish
For leaving you alone
Coz you know you needed me
To carry you home
Just like I was too lazy
For the responsibility
It left me no room
For peace and tranquility
Now, I can see everything you do
When's the last time you heard from me
You don't get anything new
Not even for the largest fee
So do ya miss me?
Being without me for a day.
Would you have kissed me
If you'd known I was going away?
Yes, it's true
I'm gone and I'm not coming back
The train's whistle blew
As I lay on the railroad track
It looked like a job for me
But my cape must've covered your eyes
Feels like a trip for me
I've never had psychedelic eyes
Inject the venom
It's pleasurable pain
This patch of earth ain't heaven
I ain't coming back again
I douse my truth with glitter
I drench myself in lies
Inside of my mouth tastes bitter
With myths of my delectable demise
So do ya miss me?
Couldn't written the next Great play
If you listened to me
Profound visions won't stay
Do ya miss me?
And my masterpiece of grey
Would ya kiss me?
Now that you know I've gone away
...now that I've gone away

Listen
What is that sound
Hear it well
It is my voice!
Listen
To your chest
It must beat
It has no choice
Listen
To my voice
Swallow it whole
You have no choice!
Yes, my young ones
Defile the wall with your beautiful markings
Find the weak spots
To fill in with your influence of kings
I speak in riddles
But you know the answer
I flail my body
But I'm no dancer
Find the writing on the wall
Read it well, read it all
That is your duty, hear it call
Maybe then the gate will fall
Sing to me
With your utter defiance
It is unduly
To stand on higher reliance
There's a net up above
I cut it with my sword
It hinders the path
Of dark skies I'm riding toward
Breathe in small breathes
Your sucking up all the air
We'll put you down if your
Manner is not debonair
The wrinkles in the clock
Must be smoothed with care
For we have no time to talk
I must be going elsewhere
The love we generate
Is duly up to fate
At the rate we procreate
And eat what's on our plate
You say that I am entertainer
And I should shut and do my job
But I refuse to simply jerk you off
If that's what you were thinking of
If you want a clown go to the circus
These circus clothes I will not be wearing
If you don't like my act then leave us
You can't stop the revolution I'm preparing
Hot Woman (Hot Girl!)
=====================
She knows the way
To make your jaw gape open
She'll make only the slightest sound
She knows you'll listen
She's got nothing to say
But that's her appeal
She'll make you think your wounds
Are things only skin can heal
(Hot Woman)
She runs your show
(To me a Hot girl)
And you can't let go
You'd love to order her a drink
And light her cigarette
In hopes that it ain't the
Closest to her that you can get
Well, she knows how to strut
Without breaking her beat
You want the taste of her flesh
To be your after-dinner treat
(Hot woman)
A voice that high
(Hot Girl)
Can fake any lie
You know you're not the only one
You know you're not the first
Coz her rhythm's so perfected
That you can tell she's rehearsed
And the best things about her
Are also the worst
She'll love you til eternity
But only in short bursts
(Hot Woman)
She's got the world to match
(Hot girl)
She don't let nothing attach. No
She's a wizard, heh heh
But she's in of a wand
Her magic they say'll take you to
Heaven, hell, and beyond
And she gives me the chills
As she walks to my table
Could it be a dream come true
Or just a fable
(Hot Woman)
What's behind that makeup mask
(Hot Girl!)
Guess I'm too shallow to ask
Yeah
Hot Woman
To me she Hot Girl
Hot Woman
Think I'll give her a whirl
Running in Place
================
You know what you're doing
But you know better
A hard rains a-brewin'
And you ain't even met her
The road is tough
But the sky is tougher
You're getting rough
And you don't even love her
An angel's in the sky
But he ain't dressed in white
There's a feather in your eye
And it's blinding you tonight
The light is on
The feeling is gone
And there's blood on the floor
You took your time
On the feast which you dine
But you still want more
You're running in place
But that's Ok, coz you know where you're going
Turn about face
And you'll have seen everything that's worth showing
(And you've) proven your case
Coz you've learned everything that's worth knowing
So now you're just running in place
But that's Ok, cuz you know where you're going
Boiling a witch's brew
The runner-up just passed
Toil and trouble in the stew
Becoz you just don't run that fast
Demon's down below
But you don't believe in ghosts
You've stolen the show
A parasite for your hosts
Force of evil, force of good
All depends on who you are
Truth burns inside Holy wood
Through the rear-view mirror
of your getaway car
But the gas is on E
He just won't make it easy
And you can't thumb yourself a ride
So you head down south
All your action figures are laid out
Washed ashore along with the tide
And now you're
Running in place
But that's Ok, coz you know where you're going
Turn about face
And you'll have seen everything that's worth showing
And you've proven your case
Coz you've learned everything that's worth knowing
So now you're just running in place
But that's Ok, cuz you know ( ...exactly... )where you're going
Sleepless Nights
================
Don't you dread the nights, my fellow insomniac
Once it about after ten, and there's no turning back
No one awake and the stores are all closed
The roots of this plague, not a soul knows
Perhaps if I had someone to lie beside
To talk for hours on end about everything I hide
So I create by spilling ink on the page
In hopes I'l be exhausted from all the rage
I feel my mind tire though my body is awake
Or could it be the other way around
It is a slumber which I cannot fake
Although my eyes are closed and I'm lying down
Don't seduce me
Don't sedate me
I keep you tossing
It's too late for me
The fog is closing in
The clock is in slow spin
God, won't you help me
Just strike me down
The word is nebulous
(The) Paper so porous
I'm waiting for death
Or the alarm to sound
It's summer time, the heat is everywhere
The fan doesn't help, it just stirs up hot air
I'm sweating, swimming in wetness
With no one around to be a comforting witness
This is all part of a waking nightmare
In need of a release but its not there
Whole night ahead but it becomes time to spare
My mind is bulging but the page and pen don't care
Don't seduce me
Don't sedate me
I keep you tossing
It's too late for me
The imperfections are all mine
But they don't pass the time
God, won't you help me
Just strike me down
Perfection gives me pause
(A) reason without a cause
I'm waiting for death
Or the alarm to sound
Don't you dread the nights, my fellow insomniac
It's about after ten, and there's no turning back
No one awake and the stores are all closed
The roots of this plague, not a soul knows
Don't seduce me
Don't sedate me
I keep you tossing
It's too late for me
"When I get writer's block, I write about writer's block."
Sorry
======
So sorry
I can't be your friend
I'm carrying much too little
For me to lend you a hand
Friendship
How does it come about
Stay away from those
Who are down and out
You see the drinkers
Open mouths to their kin
And the thinkers
Have nothing in common (in common have nothin)
So I'm very sorry
I cannot be your pal
Coz in your store
Nothing is on sale
And I don't save the day
When you cry out
For it's not a plea for help
But a cop out
Stay away from drowning people
They'll only drag you under
And after you've gone down
Your body's theirs to plunder
And I'm so sorry
That I cannot share the wealth
I'm much too rich
To be offering any help
See she's my type
That is what I think
And in case she isn't
I'll offer her a drink
Talk over a line
So she can't see your face
Take a head start,
Jump start, the gun in the race
Liars are friends
Who believe you at every turn
If you don't know already
Perhaps you'd better learn
These things are all part of
A body of common sense
Before you can build a palace
First you must build a fence
And I'm sorry
That I can't give you my time
Your time is not yours
As long as mine is mine
So sorry
I can't be your friend
I can't worry bout you
Enough to lend a hand...
So sorry
I know it's sick
I'm so sorry
Ain't it ironic
Stowaway
========
I've been told to stop playing silly little games
Doodling nonsense on a once upon a time blank page
But when I don't things as once were aren't the same
I don't grow anymore but my mind begins to age
I'm afraid of jumping the abyss that I might fall
It sure looks lonely down there with all those people inside
And I don't want to just be more writing on the wall
But at least I'll die knowing (what I've done and) that I tried
I can't ever be the best the I can be
Because I wasn't taught that way
Too much a drifter riding other's dreams
I'll never be more than a stowaway
You don't hear much about artists in my family tree
I have fame and fortune that I was never heir to
I'm both running from and towards responsibility
Sifting through old parchment for what in me is true
The size of the library I've found is overwhelming
The size of my mind a severe disappointment
My choice of company not very at all telling
Of the reason's for their unwilling annointment
I can't ever find the whole of me
And never learn to seize the day
Just a thieving drifter riding other's dreams
I'll never be more than a stowaway

The Climb
=========
Our town has a landfill
It's just like every other landfill on earth
It has all kinds of things
Piled miles high with treasures gone past their worth
A Great Wall surrounds the pile
And a gatekeeper holds the key
And if you get on the other side
There is a large tax and a fee
And everyone is willing to pay the fee
To climb the pile is their responibility
That's what they learned as boys and girls
Get to the top and prop your flag unfurled
They heard:
"It was something your daddy tried and failed to do
Now leaving a mark is up to you"
My walk to my work each day
Brings me past the wall
And rising high above the horizon
I see another climber fall
The climb is littered with bones of those who wasted away
But they must carry on
Those lives were given to heighten the pile
So that greater power could be won
How many more?
How much longer?
Will the stronger
Please clean up the pile
How many more?
How much longer?
How much longer
To the top of the pile
The landfill is littered with the dead
But the climbers pay no heed
They simply hold fast in their stead
Not noticing their souls bleed
For they care not the cost of their climb
To never again see the outside
They are the victims of a victimless crime
Forever stained with their own pride
At the top there is a stench they say
The glorious stench of victory
The prize of their long and hard essay
Is rule over the humanity
At the top there is only room for one
Only room for one among the dead to live
"Better to rule in hell than serve in heaven"
But the air does misgive
How many more?
How much longer?
Will the stronger
Please clean up the pile
From all afar sage prophets come
Is this the mount He preached from?
How many more?
How much longer?
How much longer
To the top of the pile
The Front Row
=============
Still ain't found what I was lookin for
Coz it ain't right in front of me yet
I'm begging and crawling for more
The congregation isn't set
Dancing deep inside the heart
Bleeding love from the eyes
Preorder tickets for the pop tarts
Beauty being privileged disguise
Put the Messiah way in the back
The needs of our many
Outweigh the needs of your few
Relocate to the reservation
It's only a few
Not a soul but my voice sings
The front row, what a view
Now it's even better than the real thing
Reorganize this crew
For the camera, I wish it blinked
The front row, what a view
Now it's even better than the real thing
Yea, it's all right
I think it's all right
All set now, I think it's all right
Tell the man in the back
That he can turn on the lights
Bring the glitz and glammer
Up'a the front'a the bus
The Messiahs on camera
You too blot for us
Dilute the stew
I'm the New England Chowdah king
The front row, what a view
It's even better than the real thing
This army's ready to bring it home
Send the signal to your tube
I ain't taking off this uniform
I got pictures to prove
Abnorms in the third world
Can't get in my front row
I kill only the best furs
I'm not sorry but you gotta go ('cept you Miss Sarajevo!)
Obsession
That's my favorite perfume
All the concessions
I sell em inside my tunes
Reorganize this crew
For the camera, I wish it blinked
The front row, what a view
Now it's even better than the real thing
s'What I says, what you do
I'm a disciple of the King
The front row, what a view
Even better than the real thing
The Weatherman (and the Windmasters)
====================================
There is a band of demi-gods
Who house the controls to the world
They draw the heatwaves and the floods
And decide when the wind should whirl
I call them the Windmasters
But you may call them Sirs
Their voices are the supreme authority
And lash out at those who don't concur
They hold the reins to Acts of God
You have to appreciate their power
And it's irresistability
As constant as an hour
They've convinced you that their acts
Are the will of an indifferent force
Any well thinking man
Will reply to that "of course"
They've got their method engrained in you
As familiar as your own phone number
Its become ritual, you don't even think
Of it as anything but detached plunder
To you the ends (now) justify the means
And deaths are as regrettable as burnt toast
They feed off of that tainted opinion
Like a parasite to its host
And the rain washes away the blood
Soon the sun will come out
But not this time, I'm the weatherman
And my forecast is a drought
The battles are only as steep a climb
As the stairs to the second floor
But you can't get inside the house
(til you can) Look at the door
What It Takes
=============
I've gotta job, a job I don't know if I can do
It's a job thats calling both me and you
For its been ignored for the longest time
By all those except ones of the strongest kind
We let it pass without response for so many a century
The horrid flame has been burning us with such fury
We tell ourselves its best not to be burnt today
And its scorching heat just pushes the most of us away
But it can be put out, yes it can, if we all sang in tune
If we all waited for a cold night under a quiet moon
And gathered water together in a heated war on the fire
But I'm told what it takes is much more, the price much higher
It takes lots of money to be a good influence on the kids
It takes all kinds of weather for the mud to be rid
It takes every best effort to see what's under the lid
It takes all the right reasons to put in the highest bid
So we sit and wait perhaps, for a rain to put it out
But the clouds don't ever visit, blessed storms never come about
We wait for bold heroes who carry swords of freezing steel
But that warrior's calling not a one of us feels
We've been told were we to band together we'd be devoured one by one
So we stay away, and swim in cool ponds, trying to find fun
But we hear on the other side the flame claims many a child's life
It kills many a man's sons and daughters, leaves a widow of his wife
How can the flame be diminished when its power seems so vast
With every attempt to fight it, it seems stronger than the last
What it takes is a weapon like any only the dead ever knew
To fight the ranks of flame, to strike true and break through
It takes every chord you know to backup the warriors cry
It takes every truth on earth to accompany any lie
It takes the magic of a wizard to drown out the fear of a coward
It takes the time of a clocksmith to make ripe a fruit that's soured
It takes every human being to create a world of free people
It takes all the best boats to attract the smartest seagulls
It takes the bloodiest words to get a glimpse of any truth
It takes all the riches money to buy all a ticket at the booth
It takes every played game to get a smile from all the bored
It takes many helping hands to buy what you need but can't afford
It takes every family's meal to fill the stomach of the hungry
It takes too many a-dying child to put sympathy in the wealthy
It takes all of our blood spilt before the blind see it's too much
It takes every warped word for the blind to see them as such
It takes all the worlds blasphemy to give praise to the Lord
It takes all of harmony to rectify all of this discord
It takes everything we know and love and all that we hate from above
And all that ever confuses us for I'm sure that God chooses us
We can
We will
I won't give up until
The flame no longer burns
It is for freedom I yearn
Freedom
That's what it takes
Freedom
For it I ache
Freedom
For all of you
Freedom
Would be a dream come true
What's That You Say, Baby
=========================
I'm listenin to the telephone
To a voice that's not my own
And I think I'd call it sexy
With a hum that just drones
And a loop-around moan
What would ya tell me?
Is the country coming back up the drain
Is that boy dead or is it a feint
Oh, that flag just don't wanna be plain
People going fishing along the street
Catching every girl they meet
An accomplishment that is such a feat
Keep talking. soon they'll come around
You can't be ignorant in this town
Soon they'll see what others have found
What's that? You say, Baby
You say deaf people don't listen
No, they ain't deaf,
they just don't know t/what they can hear
And What's that? You say, Baby
You say crying eyes just don't open
Nah, baby, they ain't blind,
it's just hard seeing (clear --) through the tears
And I'll tell you baby
Remember one thing, "We Can!" Yeah
Try to open your mind
When you find out how, it comes clear
What you can't read in books
Is how to read them dirty looks
The ones ya get in the palace
There's a host of all creation
Ignites cool imagination
That ya can't drink from a chalice
Keep looking down on me with disdain
Coz I'm swimming in the English rain
I pity whoever isn't insane
You know it pays to be discrete
And what you are is what you eat
And what are is never complete
There's mysteries abound
Watch the walls richochet the sound
And when what you want's in front of you,
better turn around
And What's that you say baby
Huh, crippled people can't walk
No, baby, they ain't lame
Just never been outside their own block
And What's that you say, baby?
Mute voices can't sing. What?
Nah nah nah nah hey baby.
I can't sing -- just don't stop me from doing my thing
And I'll tell you baby
Remember one thing "We Can!" Yeah
Try to open your mind
Pretty soon you'll be feeling it in the air
(Don't badger 'bout my no creativity CD
And pest me 'bout what the songs mean to me me me
The laser pin moves on and the tracks they change
But the spirit is established and the song remains the same
Pop- pop- pop muzik
Talk about... Pop Muzik)
Which Way to Heaven
===================
A man surveys the battlefield alone, he's not one to take sides
But with this war he notices something new
The oceans wax and wane in nuclear tides
Bulldozing all the soft beeches from view
A silent march fills the mute air as the ranks close in
Their guns primed and prepared
And so the bullets fly from the loner's mind at whim
His destiny had been dared
And he casts a shadow
Which he doesn't understand
He ponders his presence
Grips his weapon tight in hand
Should I kill this man
Will He be on my side
Knowing that what I did
Was the only thing I tried
Does nature favor those
who walk the most erect
Does He builds doors for those
Whose paths are most direct
He sees the road define a path in front of him
But beneath it all is bare
Long ago, before this concrete raped the earth
There were roads built everywhere
Chorus:
There's a sign 10 miles high at the crossroad
That directs him to what he's looking for
"This way to Heaven" chimes the glyphs, inked in gold
But without an arrow, tells him no more
The clocks which beat their hearts
To the tune only of the sun
Dedicate their lives to caging us in
To a life of misery and failure
Dictated by deadlines
That cut efforts too short for us to win
So when the zenith 'bove my head houses the sun
My wanting gaze drifts above
In search of what kind force this Universe is run
Because I don't feel this thing called love
Chorus:
There's a sign 10 miles high at the crossroad
That directs to what I've been looking for
"This way to Heaven" chimes the glyphs, inked in Spirit
But without an arrow or voice, he (must) refused to hear it
Who am I to
===========
You'll believe what I say
Just so long as it's true
I'm a horrible writer
You can be one too
You know that snow melts
Before it ever hits the ground
And a noise ain't worth listening to
If you can't feel the sound
How far should I go?
How deep should I dig?
How bloody should I get
Before my blood is shed
And I must know a lot
To say so much
But you know my pen
Is an inkfilled crutch
Do you ever feel hopeless?
Do you ever do anything about it?
Nevertheless
You drop the shoe, it don't fit
Who am I
To tell you things
And claim of all
The joy it brings?
The winds blow in
The opposite direction
The sun doesn't like
My ghostlike complexion
I'm on a beech where
All the swimmers have just left
What I was saying fell
In the sand through a tiny cleft
Do you ever feel hopeless?
I bet you do cos so do I
Nevertheless
I bet you're too hurt to try
How far should you go?
How deep should you dig?
How many wounds should you patch
Before the gash gets too big?
And you must know a lot
To say so much
You can live like a grape
Just follow the bunch
How far should I go?
How deep should I dig?
How many people should I shoot
Before I pull the trig?
How high should I climb?
How low should I stoop?
How much should I rhyme
Or keep up with the group?
How many phones should I call?
How much should I read?
How many girls should I fall
Just to spread my seed?
How long should I live?
How hard should I try?
How much should I give
And of what 'fore I die?
How much should I love?
When should I get rough?
When is enough enough?
When should I look up above?
And who am I
To tell you things
And speak of all
The good they bring?
So just listen good
And listen well
What good or bad
Who can tell?
So journey on
And journey fast
Just keep it slow
Let other past
For who am I
To tell you things Do you feel hopeless
And claim of all What do you do, dont lie
The good it brings Nevertheless
I bet you're too hurt to try
Not a Martyr in Sight
=====================
I'm walking down by the street corner
Stabbed and bled, and innocent bystander
Wasn't a martyr, wasn't ready yet
Implying vengeance, wasn't dead yet
Been called called sick with savior syndrome
I simply say salvation don't always fall on success
Could I live a 'perfect' life, I still couldn't draft the poem
And you'd make my mind delusion like the rest
Had I took the hit not too long ago
I'd spit on my grave too, I confess
Angry Love of the Hypocrite
===========================
Well they say
If you known one, you know em all
Well go ahead
When you know one I'll make it your call
Their persons out of reach
When behind you's what you seek
And when at the top is your peak
Well aren't you angry, hypocrite, at them
You're domestic in their foreign land
Evolved to breathe the putrid fumes [we fan/fanned]
[It's just/Just now it's] OK to strike with our unclean hand
Give me your Word
Just let me do with it ('cording to my own/as I) Will
For the world stays established but it shifts
At the rifts that eternally dare to stay still
Like colored balls pooled in the playground pit
Don't wanna drown but you still jump in it
Maturity fills our park with cement and spit
And the angry love of us hypocrites
Give to me what is yours, give yours what's mine
Stolen televisions and I still turned out just fine
I don't appear
To see everything I hear
Give me your word
And spray dirt at all the other herds
"Give me your love
Gimme your love, Give me your.love
Give me your love Give me your love
Or I'll rip it from your throat my love
Give me your love
Gimme your love, Give me your love
The blood is what keeps us afloat
Myyyyy looooovvve
...
"Your eyes' reflection will never leave my memory
Always admired your huMilitant wit
Never know to fulfill you heirloom gentry
Cos I learned the angry love of hypocrites!"
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaggghhh
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaggghhh-iaa-aaaggghhh
(I don't know what you don't know what I know)
The remedy is archaic
When the cure makes you sick
And their's plenty in the bowl
But fillin it is the trick
Fill my hole
Can you please fill it
Fill my souul
With the angry love of us hypocrites
Smack me with a kiss of us hypocrites
(It's kiss and tell... then hang)
Only few can play great
Because they wanna make rules
To market to the people in the bleachers
Gazing at the field like fools
Black chew and white sun and brown spit
(I'll take a shit, but I'll give it over not give in your own light
The firing line is in your sight
Hope all's allright despite my spite
Pass it on. Pass what?
Our angry love of our hypocrites
Every hour every minute every day
We can WIN IT! What? number ONE radio play
Fill my hole
Can you please say
'Please fill my souuul'
Fill it with rage but do so lovinglay
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaggghhh
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaggghhh-iaa-aaaggghhh
(I don't know what you don't know what I know)
Life (Livid Livin') (Enlivened)
====
If life to you's all for gamin
IT's best time you were participatin
Learnin to love
Everywhere and one
So it can't be done
What cross are you carrying
Besides that one strangling your neck
The disciples thought they were worthy
And guess who split when Jesus made that trek
Learning to love all the way
And where not you can betray
Coz when love slips from your mind
It's Ok
(...please pass the faith)
How much've ya disowned?
And oh my, even your nose hasn't grown
But every morning the cock still crows

Sleeper who hates to tire
This one who shows who hates what you see
Illustrator who hates the portrayal that is not me
Servant who hates the service
Hate this structure, the method worthless
Hate what here was good, now is tart
On distance from start are apart
This is not beating hateful heart
Mirror Shop
===========
Gone not yet from memory
Still it's become putrid
I've wrapped up that path
Mirrors came hard to see
No one's sharing eyes with me
I try to pass out shards but just draw blood
I can easily say lines that rhyme (Art is easy)
Much harder to make even the cleverest lines contain
Even after maintain inside them what only behind is true
If anything being relative in the mind
The know that I see and the feel that I breathe
Crawling inside me, has it learned to relate to you
Your language don't fit with me
It wouldn't with you
Pass it on
Pass it on
Skip a generation
Simple minority
strong hands
In a world of feet
Make it by
It's disappointing enough to cry
The baby can't say
but knows why
Noone writes this song before I die
I didn't write this song and it's died
Da Capo
She's right in front of me
She wraps around behind
Her bright eyes lined in my dark shadow
The Soul opaque reflections of My mind
Tho' lonely for air grazed skin
To rub against Her soft cheek
Her starry gaze marked in vectors
Paints the map to what I seek
With Raven locks about her hair
Her smile has always stirred the air
I have felt her presence everywhere
But like a ghost, she was not there
She's skilled with a sword
Yet makes peace out of chaos
She is but One with the sun
As dark arise She turns the day off
And Her flowing wavy locks
She waves like the ocean
Yes, She reflects the sun's
Flickering light in motion
Her gentle touch given with care
Her smile stirring the air
Her intentions always fair
O! My Lord, has Created her somewhere!
